Description

Tierra del Fuego National Park is the southernmost park on the planet and the only one in Argentina where mountains, forests, and sea converge. A must-visit for those seeking to connect with the stunning nature of the end of the world and learn about the region's history. We depart from the hotel for Tierra del Fuego National Park. During the journey, an experienced guide shares insights into the region's peculiarities, history, fauna, flora, and geography. Our first stop is just before the park entrance, at the End of the World station. Here, those interested in the train ride can purchase tickets. Onboard, you'll not only enjoy the scenery but also learn about the history of this railway used to transport prisoners from Ushuaia to Mount Susana. The ride lasts approximately 1 hour. For those not taking the train, there's an option for a short hike or to enjoy the charming station while our guide shares railway history. After the train ride, we embark on a 30km journey through the park, with specific stops for appreciation. Next is Lake Roca, also known as Acigami, where we can glimpse the Chilean mountains, enjoy the lake and forest, and take a lakeside walk. Continuing along the dirt road, we admire beautiful landscapes until we reach the park's restaurant, offering delicious pies, coffee, drinks, and a stunning view, along with the Alakushi Indigenous Interpretation Museum. We then head towards one of the park's most special places, the famous Lapataia Bay. A sign at the entrance marks interesting facts, including that it's the southernmost point of Route 3, making it a great spot to feel literally at the 'End of the World.' A short walk leads to a deck offering the best view of the bay. In the park, you'll also find the renowned 'End of the World Post Office,' where you can stamp your passport and send a postcard from the southernmost reaches of South America (when open, there will be a stop). After this beautiful journey, we return to Ushuaia.
