Description

We started the tour in front of the entrance of the Iglesia del Pilar, a church right next to the entrance of the Cemetery. We talked about the Recoletos, their convent and the church, of a beautiful colonial and baroque style. We entered the church and contemplated the incredible altarpieces. At the entrance to the cemetery foreigners must pay the entrance fee, which is around 14 thousand Argentinean pesos (August 2024). Inside the cemetery we began to observe the incredible mausoleums of this place, considered the largest open-air sculpture museum and one of the most important cemeteries in the world. Some of the mausoleums will catch your attention for their architecture, others for the personalities buried and others for the stories that survived about their people. War heroes, politicians, businessmen, distinguished Buenos Aires people who rest in elegance and beauty. We will visit more than 30 mausoleums that you can not miss, plus others that we will find along the way. Before ending the tour we will visit the mausoleum of Eva Perón and review a couple of stories about her.

Includes

This is a free walking tour, that is to say, it does not have a fixed price. It is a will of the client depending on his valuation of the service and his possibilities. The suggested price is 10 USD per person. It does not include the cost of the entrance ticket to the cemetery. This is a tour with a high content of art (sculpture and architecture), historical context of the city and the country, and stories and legends related to the illustrious characters buried in the mausoleums. But also with emotion and a bit of humor.
