Description
Departing from Cruises Terminal in Luis Piedrabuena pier in the city of Puerto Madryn, we will sail aboard the Tiburon II in search of the pods of dolphins that inhabit the crystal-clear waters of Golfo Nuevo. We will learn about their biological cycle and share some search techniques that allow us to find them in the sea. During the excursion, we may observe a great diversity of seabirds such as cormorants, penguins, shearwaters, giant petrels, and albatrosses. We will witness their cooperative feeding with dolphins. The magic of this experience is possible because every year, starting in spring, larger quantities of fish such as anchovies (the main food source for marine mammals on the Patagonian coast) become more available. Thanks to this, Dusky dolphins begin to gather in large groups to gather the shoal at the surface and feed. When this event occurs, other species such as sea lions, penguins, and many birds also take advantage of it, giving way to a wonderful spectacle provided by this rich protected marine ecosystem.
