Start the tour with pickup at your centrally located hotel in Tucumán between 7:30 AM-8:15 AM. Make your first stop at the small town of Tafí del Valle, which offers numerous attractions. If you like, sample some of the area's excellent farmhouse cheeses, some seasoned with peppers. Explore the local market, admire the stunning surroundings of the countryside, and enjoy a great chance for photos. Next, visit the Quilmes Ruins, the largest pre-Colombian settlement in Argentina and a place chosen by the locals to set their defense against the enemy. These ruins belonged to the Calchaquí natives who settled on the hillsides and on the mountain range called Calchaquí. Learn about the archaeological site with the help of your guide. In the afternoon, arrive in Cafayate, a town famous for its wines, and have the chance to visit a winery.
